Memorial Day 2017

Celebrating Memorial day 2017

This year has been really emotional and hard for me! Its been 7 months and 12 days since we lost our sweet mom!
This holiday has brought new meaning to me, I know that sounds weird but its true.
My mom was and is my hero she has the most amazing fun personality.
We would always laugh till coughing fits over all things silly and odd!
Not a day goes by in the last few months, that I don't miss her so much!
Last night I had a dream that when (in the distant future) I would go into the hospital for my upcoming surgery mom was there!!!
She held my hand the whole time and told me repeatedly that she would never leave me.  I then woke and realized it was just a dream and was a little bit shocked and sad :(
I know that when I need her she will be there with me that even through the veil she will help me and encourage me.

Dad and I visited all of the Salt Lake City graves for both sides of the family, we went to Wasatch lawn, Sunset lawn (love it) Salt Lake City Cemetery and Valley View cemetery! We used to be able to do all of them in one long afternoon this time it took 3 days Wowzer,
I think I am getting old.
Luckily I had good air conditioning, music and caffeine!
I loved reliving the memories I had or my dad had with our family as we went to their graves.

On a fun note, I tried making ribs this weekend.  I bought $40.00 worth of ribs stuck them in freezer to keep them safe and then forgot to get them out of freezer till Saturday night, unfortunately our fridge is really good and didn't thaw the ribs out completely.  My bro-in-law helped me do a quick defrost we treated it like frozen bread dough and heated the oven up and stuck it in there!  I thought it would work little did I know partially thaw is not the same as totally thaw :)
To make a long long story short we ate the ribs intended for a wonderful Sunday dinner Monday afternoon, but they did turn out wonderful!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend enjoying the many blessings we are given!
